Last Call for Intercounty

  • Sat May 3rd at 3pm we're having our final joint practice session for all of our Intercounty teams.
  • If you're interested in playing, but missed last month's indoor practice sessions, this is your last chance to be considered for a spot on one of our teams.
  • There is no fee, of course, but advance registration is required: Write [email protected] to request a form.​

 ATTN House League Players

  • House League starts May 5th with Session #1 starting at 7pm and Session #2 starting at 830pm.
  • Beginner/Intermediate play is on Mondays; Advanced is on Wednesdays.
  • Members who have pre-paid the HL fee will receive an email this week to confirm their preferred day.
  • ​If you wish to join HL, revisit your 2025 Membership Application Form (jump to Section 5 of the Form) to add yourself to HL, remit the $20. e-transfer, and you're in!

 New Leap Frog Plus Ladder Goes Live Apr 30th

  • Our all-new Leap Frog Plus Ladder operates on the basis of ranking points, much like last year's ELO Ladder but with some refinements.  Players may challenge and be challenged by other players within a 7 spot range.
  • Fourty members have signed up so far (better than this time last year) and more are expected to join in the weeks ahead.
  • If you want to join in the fun, just revisit your 2025 Membership Application Form (jump to Section 5 of the Form) to add yourself to the ladder, remit the $15. e-transfer, and you can start challenging others.
  • Don't forget to write 'ladder' in the Interac message box so we know what the payment is for.

Opening BBQ & RR Scheduled for Sunday May 4th 

  • RSVP invitations were mailed out to all members on Tue April 22nd.​
  • The round robin starts at 930am.

YWTC Hosts Ontario Senior Games Qualification Event

  • Compete in +55 and/or +65 categories
  • Winners get to represent Etobicoke-York District 17 at the 2025 Summer Ontario Senior Games this August.
  • The fun starts at 1pm Tues May 27th with a draw that is limited to a 24 player maximum.
  • It's only $5. to register, and pre-registration is recommended.

2025 Newbie Clinic . . . To be EXPANDED?

  • Dates: Every Saturday 12 noon ~ 2pm starting May 10th until Aug 30th
  • Session Options:
    • Newbie Clinic #1:  Starts May 10th, 17th, 24th & 31st
    • Newbie Clinic #2:  Starts Jun 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th
    • Newbie Clinic #3:  Starts Jul 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th
    • Newbie Clinic #4:  Starts Aug 2nd, 9th, 16th, & 23rd
  • Duration:  8 hours of total instruction time
  • ​Cost: $160. for four consecutive Saturday sessions
  • Registration forms were emailed April 14th to all Adult Members who checked the "Newbie Clinic" box on their Membership Application Form.
  • Due to the high number of inquiries, we could add an extra session in May. Possibilities include Friday evening and/or Sunday morning/evening. Coaches must be first consulted as to their availability.
  • In the meantime, don't get discouraged by the waiting list.  Just register and we'll be in touch.​

Junior Spring After-School Program Schedule

  • Dates: May 14 ~ June 20 (6 weeks)​
  • Schedule Options:
    • Wednesday or Friday
    • 4 ~ 6 PM or 6 ~ 8 PM
  • Duration: 12 hours of total instruction time
  • ​Cost: $240 for six once-per-week sessions​
  • To receive a Summer Day Camp Application Form, Parents/Guardians should first obtain a YWTC Junior Membership. ​​
  • Registration forms were emailed on April 13th to all Parents/Guardians who checked the "Spring After-School Program" box on their Membership Application Form.​

Junior Summer Day Camp Program Schedule

  • Dates: Jun 23 ~ Aug 29th (Mon ~ Fri incl National Holidays)​
  • Schedule Options:
    •  9 ~ 3 PM (Full-Day Session)
    • 9 ~ 12 or 12 ~  3 PM (Half-Day Session)
  • ​Cost: 
    • Full-Day = $400. per week
    • Half-day = $265. per week
  • Registration forms were emailed on April 13th to all Parents/Guardians who checked the "Summer Day Camp" box on their Membership Application Form.
  • Parents/Guardians must first obtain a YWTC Junior Membership for their child in order to receive and fill out a Summer Day Camp Application Form​. ​​

Your Help KEEPs OUR CLub Spotless

      Court Cleanliness Policy – Effective June 1
  • Each Member shares the responsibility of keeping our Club clean.
  • Starting June 1, garbage bins will be permanently removed from the courts. 
  • All Members are required to clean up after themselves and remove all their trash from the courts after play.
  • Trash (old balls, empty ball containers, drink bottles etc) should be deposited in appropriate bins in the patio area.
  • Your cooperation is essential in keeping our facilities clean and enjoyable for everyone.

Court Booking System

  • Court booking privileges are extended to 2025 Members only.
  • 2024 Members cannot book until their memberships are renewed and dues are paid.
  • New Members on our 2025 waitlist will have their court booking privileges activated on May 1st.

  • Always close the tab in your browser after submitting the booking form.  Leaving the tab open can result in Invalid Booking error messages that are avoidable if you close the tab after booking.

Booking Lessons

  • Our new Court Booking System includes a Lesson Request Form to make it easier for our Members to arrange a private lesson with our Head Pro, Assistant Pro or Instructor.​​
  • On the Court Booking spreadsheet, hover your mouse over  "Request" and click the hyperlink to open up the Lesson Request Form.
  • Fill it out, click submit and you'll get an immediate confirmation.

Mixed 55+ Intercounty Team Pulls Out

  • YWTC has been forced to withdraw its Mixed 55+ Team from ICTA competition this season.​
  • Hopefully we will be able to field a team next year.

Ball Machine Coming

  • In response to Member demand, the Club will have a ball machine available on a trial basis.
  • Starting in May, Members will be able to rent the machine but use will be limited initially from 7am to 9am and restricted to Court 3. 
  • The machine will be available through the Court Booking system and members will be required to submit an e-Transfer payment in advance.  
  • Rental hours may be subsequently adjusted depending on feedback.

High Schoolers!  Do Your Community Service at YWTC

  • YWTC  welcomes high schoolers looking to complete their 40h of community service.
  • If you know of a high schooler looking to do volunteer work, suggest they email us at:  [email protected]
  • Students can complete their community hours at YWTC all at once, or in increments.
  • All Ontario high school students, to graduate, must complete at least 40 hours of community service.

Email re: 2025 Membership Renewal 

  • On Mon Feb 17th ​ all 2024 Members should have received a membership renewal notice by email.
  • Second and third reminder emails were sent on Wed Mar 5th and Thurs Mar 13th, respectively.
  • If you did not receive anything, kindly check your junk / promotional email folder or contact us.

2025 Membership Renewals

  • The Membership Renewal Form is now available under the Join tab.
  • Lock in 2024 rates – Returning Members can renew at 2024 rates with our Early Bird until Mar 15th.
  • Don’t miss out – Payments must be received before Mar 15th to qualify for the Early Bird.
  • Late renewals – Payments made after Mar 15th will be subject to the higher 2025 rates.
  • Secure your spot – Renew early to keep your membership.
  • Final deadline – If your renewal payment is not received by May 1st, we assume you’re not renewing, and your spot will be offered to a New Member.​
  • Eligibility – Renewal rates apply to 2024 Members only.  If you didn't join in 2024, kindly apply as a New Member.

Final Call for Renewals

  • The fourth and FINAL renewal reminder was emailed to 2024 members/procrastinators today, April 4th, urging immediate action.
  • 2024 Members must renew and pay for their Membership by April 30th  to avoid losing their spot.
  • On May 1st, any unclaimed spots will be offered to waitlisted new members.
  • York-Weston is fast approaching maximum capacity — memberships may be sold out by the May 4th Opening BBQ, and when they're gone, they are gone.

New Members:  Apply Early

  • The New Membership Application Form is now available under the Join tab.
  • Limited spots – New Membership openings are limited; they fill up quickly, so apply early.
  • ​Returning Members first – Renewing Members enjoy priority until Apr 30th to secure their spots.
  • New Member approvals begin May 1st – Applications will be processed in the order received.
  • Priority for paid applications – Submitting your application with payment secures your spot on our waiting list.  We will email you to acknowledge receipt of payment and confirm your place on our waiting list.
  • Payment reminders will not be sent to applicants who failed to prepay.  If payment is not received within 24h of application submission, the application is then automatically deleted.
  • Refund guarantee – If your application is declined due to the cap, you’ll receive a FULL refund.
  • Applications for the current year will be rejected once membership capacity is reached.​​
  • Members can pick up their tags at the Club any Sat or Sun from 10 am until noon starting April 12th.
  • Mailing of shoe tags has been discontinued.

Washrooms oPEN

  • Water to the Clubhouse has been turned back on and washroom are open again.
  • Our water cooler is now dispensing chilled, purified water.
  • As is done every spring, the unit is given a thorough cleaning inside and out, and both filters are replaced. 

All Courts Now Open

  • The nets are back up on all courts.
  • To reserve your court using our court booking system, start by clicking shorturl.at/00j2k 
  • Members may play on unbooked courts on a walk-on basis but members with a court booking shall enjoy priority at all times.

The Early Bird Returns

  • There's good news and bad news.
  • First, the bad:  Membership Fees are going up in 2025.
  • The good:  Our Early Bird offer lets you beat the fee increase, but only if you renew ​before Mar. 15, 2025. 
  • Renewals after Mar 15, 2025 will be subject to the fee increase.
  • All members will receive a renewal notice via email soon.
  • The Early Bird Special DOES NOT extend to new memberships. 

GameTime Shut Down as of Nov 1st

  • GameTime, our online court booking system, has been shut down during the off-season.
  • We'll be experimenting with an all-new court booking system from Nov 1st 2024 to March 31st 2025.
  • Click shorturl.at/E0rP7 to obtain the link to the new booking system. 
  • Members who play at YWTC during the winter months are advised to reserve courts using the new system.
  • The new system is a project in progress. 
  • Based on the feedback we receive, we'll decide whether or not to adopt the trial system on a permanent basis.

You Can Help Keep YWTC Smoke-Free

  • Cannabis smoking just outside of Court 4 has been a nuisance at all times of the day and night.
  • YWTC, like all City of Toronto-owned facilities, is a smoke-free zone. 
  • The Smoke-Free Ontario Act prohibits smoking within 20 meters of sporting areas, playgrounds, play areas, and spectator areas next to sporting areas.
  • Violators face a fine of up to $5000.
  • These restrictions apply to tobacco, cannabis (medical & recreational) as well as vaping or electronic cigarettes.
  • If bothered by smoke while on the court, DO NOT ENGAGE with the offender(s).
  • Dial 416.808.2222 to file a complaint with TPS.
  • Be sure to send a follow-up note to [email protected] with the date & time of the incident. 
  • Do not expect immediate results.
  • With a list of our filed complaints, our City Councillor will be able to request TPS to step up their patrols of the Weston Lions Park.
  • Do not dial 911, as this number is strictly for emergency use only.

Washrooms Closed

  • Water to the Clubhouse has been turned off for the winter.
  • This means no washrooms and no drinking water until April 2025.
  • A Porta-Potty is located beside the soccer field.
